Hi,
Quick edit with helmet cam riding my MC battery on a track around Sydney.
Did ride the bike a lot since bought more than a year ago and it's still like new. I didn't even dismount bearings or anything, it's all working smooth and with any noises.
Can't think of any bike so reliable, it's amazing.
Riding experience was awesome, I think the video is talking for itself...

Most parts are super light and it will weigh in at 12.5kg when the final cables and derailleur are on.
The cranks are Caramba double barrels and the forks are Hurrycat Vorace XC comp if anyone's interested...

Hello from Spain.

This is my new MC Fury.
Built in black with a lot of carbon components.
All components bought from Chain Reaction, and assembled by me.

Is the perfect all mountain for me, and beautiful.
I prefer to build my own bike instead of buy it.

Here a picture of it.

Fri, 13 May 2011 07:53:00 -0700 Back to the roots... http://iridemountaincycle.com/back-to-the-roots http://iridemountaincycle.com/back-to-the-roots

I've owned some Mountain Cycle bikes all the way back from the days when the San Andreas still had a elastomere rear shock, MC upsidedown forks and some pretty big floating disc brakes that were ahead of its time.
As others I've also bought some other cool stuff like Yeti's but always came back to MC.
While being a customer and later distributor for Switzerland I owned some different San Andreas, Moho and even a Shockwave. Needles to say that none of these bikes ever turned me down unless i've made some own crazy modifications.
I love to rember the early days when we played around with self modified shocks, forks and even made some conversions of the MC discbrake to use it as a full hydraulic version. Sure we had some problems with our own modifications like braking changed and extrem milled up Rock Shock SL Ti forks, exploding brakes etc. But hey, back in those days all was about suspension/brake pioniering and weight savings. Who would ride a Downhill race today with a 800g fork that was designed for 3.5 cm of travel but has been modified to 8cm of travel but just got about no more overlap? LOL The market was still so small and real good and better performance parts were very rare if available at all. We also liked to tinker and experiment around with stuff... Don't we all like this?:o)
I also remember a fun situation when a friend was visiting me from the Staates, having a flight in trough London. He brought a Risse rear suspension part along to replace that original MC Elastomer shock and when the police checked him at the airport the bomb squad was alerted because they thought it was a grenade. LOL... OK, he has a German last name and at the same time there was a world war II veteran meeting in London... But the bomb squad just didn't belive him it was a rear suspension part for a bike.. who uses a full suspension bike theses days they asked him...

In the past years i've been involved in other sports on a very high level and also recovered from a very bad firefighting accident, which was happening because some engineer thought a life saving climbing part should be so damn light that it can brake..
But hey.. I've done such stuff too but never hurt anybody else then my self because I never sold my experiments...

So here I'm. Looking around to get back into the Mountainbiking sport.
Hell, the mountains are screaming at me since a very long time to ride them down again..

My carbon rocket... a Twentysixandsix with carbon fork and road tyres. I am thinking of putting a road cassette out the back and maybe bigger rings.

A Great Rumble Found

I found this in a small Bike Shop here in Manila. Bought it right away when is saw the Bottom of the BB Shell stamped with Kinesis U.S.A. I hope this was still made in the US :D I have ridden this only once but immediately fell in love with the way this bike handles!

Used my old parts to finish the bike the day i got it. Will be getting a new fork after New Year.

I used to ride downhill and had it set up with a coil shock and twin crown forks but now its just used on local trails.
Also is a pic of my wife's fury, i'd originally brought it to retire the san an but i love riding it too much

Sun, 24 Oct 2010 15:49:00 -0700 My last video riding the Battery around Sydney, Australia http://iridemountaincycle.com/my-last-video-riding-the-battery-around-sydne http://iridemountaincycle.com/my-last-video-riding-the-battery-around-sydne

Hi,

6 month I riding my battery now and still trying to find any downside!
The bike has been proved to be much more polyvalent than I thought.
Obviously being able to handle anything in freeride use but capable to do
well when going uphill too.

Took me a while to set up the rear shock properly, getting the right sag
has been a little of a hassle. But I guess this is always the problem on
air shock.
